Description
This beginner-friendly course teaches you how to transform everyday meals into polished food photographs with natural or simple artificial light. You will learn how to position a window, sheer curtain, and reflector to create soft highlights and appetizing shadows. A step-by-step styling guide shows how to plate soups, salads, and desserts so textures read clearly on camera. You will practice building a mini set with common props such as linen napkins, cutting boards, and matte plates that reduce glare. The lessons cover lens choices for smartphones and DSLRs, with focal length comparisons so you can replicate the look you love. You will receive printable cheat sheets for exposure, white balance, and simple color harmonies to keep consistency across a shoot. Included are RAW and JPEG practice files so you can follow along with each demonstration. Editing walkthroughs in Lightroom or mobile apps show how to lift midtones without making food look washed out. You’ll complete three assignments: a hero dish, a flat-lay trio, and an action shot with spoon or drizzle. By the end, you’ll have a small but cohesive set ready for a portfolio or menu update, and a repeatable lighting setup you can re-create anywhere.
