Description
This practical blueprint walks you through photographing an entire menu in a single day with consistent lighting and color. You will learn how to design a shot list that pairs dishes by color and height to minimize resets. The course demonstrates a two-light off-camera setup using a softbox key and bounce fill for crisp yet appetizing contrast. You’ll receive a preproduction checklist covering props, backups, and must-have tools like gaffer tape, clamps, and diffuser fabric. The workflow includes file-naming conventions that match menu sections so teams can find assets instantly. You’ll practice tethered shooting to a laptop or tablet for live preview, client approval, and composition corrections. A color management module explains gray cards, custom white balance, and batch corrections to keep reds and greens natural. Retouching lessons focus on crumb cleanup, specular highlight control, and selective clarity to emphasize textures. You’ll complete a mock assignment to produce a 12-image menu set with layered PSDs ready for designers. Templates for delivery folders and licensing notes are included to streamline handoff to the restaurant team.
